Change Readiness Roundtable

Objective

To help team members reflect on their attitudes toward change, share experiences, and identify growth strategies—while building empathy and unity across the team.

Step 1: Kickoff with a Clip (Optional, 3–5 min)

Show a short 3–5 minute clip from Pastor Blunt’s message—particularly where he lists the five reasons people resist change:

  1. Pride

  2. Fear

  3. Rebellion

  4. Laziness

  5. Ignorance

This sets the tone and grounds the exercise in real-life dynamics.

Step 2: Individual Reflection (5 min)

Give everyone a worksheet (or use sticky notes/Google Docs) and have them answer:

  • Which of the five reasons do I personally relate to most when facing change?

  • What’s one specific change I’ve experienced at work (or in life) that was difficult at first—but led to growth?

Step 3: Small Group Sharing (10–15 min)

Break into groups of 3–5 and invite team members to briefly share their responses.
Encourage active listening and avoid judgment. You can prompt discussion with:

  • What helped you eventually embrace that change?

  • Have you seen others handle change well? What stood out?

Step 4: Action Step Brainstorm (10 min)

Still in groups, brainstorm practical ways to embrace change better as individuals and as a team. Examples:

  • Communicate early and often about changes

  • Celebrate adaptability

  • Create a “change champion” role for big initiatives

  • Add change readiness tips to team meetings

Groups can then share one idea with the larger team.

Step 5: Wrap-Up Reflection & Encouragement (5 min)

Close with a brief reminder of Pastor Blunt’s quote:

“You can’t move forward into your future without change.”
Encourage everyone to write one sentence starting with:
“One way I will embrace change this week is…”
